Some of America’s largest companies including Apple, Amazon, Bank of America and JP Morgan have published a letter supporting legal protection for transgender people following reports the Trump administration is considering limiting its definition of gender. Fifty companies, which employ 4.8 million people between them, signed the statement after the White House was revealed to be considering narrowing gender definitions to “immutable biological traits identifiable by or before birth”, according to a department of health memo obtained by the New York Times.
